In which I prove that I still can't render metal all that accurately.

Also, more snarly Torvi. Always.

I've always assigned elements to characters based on their temperaments ('cause the four humors are fascinating from a historical perspective, even if the science behind them is horribly antiquated), and I think it's pretty obvious what element I associate Torvi with.

But, I was recently throwing ideas around with a friend, and mused around a video game concept where you play as a character who can morph into the different elements in the periodic table and use powers based on the properties of those elements. For example, if you morphed into carbon, you could change forms from graphite to diamond for a defensive boost, or make little clones of yourself (carbon copies...) to fight with you. You could use a sulfur form for straight-up offense, or use a radon or arsenic form to inflict status effects on enemies.

Of course, the end result of that was assigning periodic table elements to all my characters, Torvi's being magnesium (though, it doesn't glow green when it's burning up - that's purely a stylistic choice. Though, the strongest spectral lines of magnesium are green, so hey!). Now I want to go and draw more of these - maybe get a bit better at painting metal along the way...

I like how you draw fire and shadows =)

Changing into elements sounds like a cool idea. Turn into nitrogen and let an enemy run past you, turn into iron when they come back and throw them into a wall. =)
